Indian Clothing Collection
How we dress is spiritual. It is making beauty. It is expressing our essence. It is a way we have to integrate diverse strands in our culture — conflicting ideals about what it means to be human, to be a child of God, to be an evolving being.
Clothing is a term that refers to a covering for the human body that is worn. The wearing of clothing is exclusively a human characteristic and is a feature of nearly all human societies. The amount and type of clothing worn depends on functional considerations (such as a need for warmth or protection from the elements) and social considerations.
Traditional Indian clothing for women is saris or gaghra cholis and (lehengas). Saris made out of silk are considered the most elegant. Indo- western clothing is the fusion of Western and Subcontinental fashion. kurtis, tunic, leggings, kurta, kaftan, embroidered dupatta saree, dress, wraps, skirts, are among other clothes.
A saree or sari is a female garment in the Indian subcontinent. A sari is a strip of unstitched cloth, ranging from four to nine metres in length, that is draped over the body in various styles. There are various traditional style of Saree like Sambalpuri Saree from East, Kanchipuram from south, Paithani from West and Banarasi from North. The most common style is for the sari to be wrapped around the waist, with one end then draped over the shoulder baring the midriff. The sari is usually worn over a petticoat, Cholis on top may be "backless" or of a halter neck style. These are usually dressier with a lot of embellishments such as mirrors or embroidery.
