Abaya is a garment which mostly worn by the Muslim women to cover themselves. The abaya sometimes called an aba, loose over-garment, essentially a rope like dress, in term of fashion it’s used to refer to black or light colored with some embroidery or some designs in simple way. The abaya material is mostly shiny or smooth stuff such as using satin or crepe material. The abaya can be open from the front having buttons all the way down.
Abayas are made in many different ways and with many different designs. A lot of the influence of the design, color and material comes from the geographic location of where the abaya is made or worn.
Abayat are known by various names but serve the same purpose, which is to cover. Contemporary models are usually caftans, cut from light, flowing fabrics like crepe, georgette, and chiffon. Styles differ from region to region: some abayat have embroidery on black fabric while others are brightly colored and have different forms of artwork across them.
It’s practical and comfortable and can be worn on whatever you want underneath it. Furthermore, it’s extremely fashionable. Black happens to be very elegant especially when studded with jewelry or adorned with silver or gold linings and other designs. Wearing the abaya is also an easier way to cover up without having to worry about coordinating an entire outfit. On the other hand, it gets dirty easily, Furthermore, during the summer the abaya becomes your own personal heating pad. Black absorbs heat like a sponge absorbs liquid.
In Many Other Country also abaya made for local market with such different ways like in United Arab with light material in light colors with some beaded work on it. In India or Pakistan the abaya made of colors and of cotton material with dark color embroidery. In Indonesia made of very light color mainly in cotton they commonly use cut work design on abaya.
Abayas are worn using various styles around the world and the variety keeps increasing. In Europe and the US many styles have been adapted by Muslims and new styles have also been created under the label of jilbabs. The motive of all Islamic dresses irrespective of location or origin is the same, to dress modestly.
