Pashmina refers to a type of fine cashmere wool and the textiles made from it. The name comes from Pashmineh, made from Persian pashm ("wool"). The wool comes from changthangi or pashmina goat, which is a special breed of goat indigenous to high altitudes of the himalayas in Nepal, Pakistan and northern India. Pashmina shawls are hand spun, woven and embroidered in Kashmir, and made from fine cashmere fibre.
Pashmina, the extremely light wool sheared from the belly of a Himalayan mountain goat, has been relegated as a luxury fabric of yesterday.
Pashmina shawls have very soft, trendy and warm feeling as because of woolen materials. Pashmina shawls made up after the long process of dyeing, sewing and softening. These shawls and pashminas originated from the South Asian culture. Countries included in the background of making pashmina shawls are India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka & Bangladesh. Colors of these shawls make them attractive between other fashion accessories.
One of these fashion accessories is shawl or pashmina. Shawls, word originated from the Arabic whereas pashmina comes from Persian word “pashm” that means “wool”. Shawls and pashminas are beautiful to see and also give warm effects to your body I winter.
Pashmina shawls… products including the pashmina shawl are desirable model accessories. With a little extra care and maintenance, they will serve you well for years to come. A pashmina scarf is produced from natural fabrics; for that reason, it should be hand-washed just and never sent to the dry-cleaner. Whilst washing it at residence, the apparel wants special care.
Even today Kashmir makes a vast range of shawls like the kani shawl woven in kanihama, which is only a shadow of what was woven earlier, the double colored pashmina, dhussa, the men's long shawls with its woven border, and the very fine amli or embroidered shawls. The woolen shawls of Kashmir have beautiful embroidery work done on them. The price of the woolen shawls depends upon the type of wool used and the fineness of the embroidery. Kashmiri wool, known as raffel, is 100 percent pure and the embroidery done is quite unique to the valley.
